Just a short message for the week that I find helpful in my own very life where I am striving and contending for the faith every day; just as all true Christians are doing around the world that is seeking entrance into the kingdom of God.
Matthew 6:33 -But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
First, everything penned in the Bible is for us to learn from and to understand the path to heaven. It tells us all we need to know. Everything is an ensample for us, it is a light, it is the inspiration of God, it is profitable for doctrine, for reproof in our lives, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: so that we may walk as Christ walked and reflect Him to the world that is lost in their captivity to sin.
1 Corinthians 10:11 -Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
Psalms 119:105 -NUN. Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 -All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
1 John 2:6 -He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
When we read in the Word of God the endurance of men and women of faith who received help from God through His mighty power, we can be encouraged through what God has done; Christ will do the same for us, so long as we obey His voice, His commandments and all He requires of us.
Deuteronomy 11:27-28 -A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day: And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.
The lives that are recorded in the Scriptures are authentic of actual individuals; regardless of what the unbelievers today proclaim. They are blinded to their willful ignorance and will be without excuse in the “Day of Judgment”. From Adam and all the way down through successive generations to the times of the twelve disciples and down to present day that is recorded in the prophecies of the Bible, we have a plain, unvarnished account of what actually occurred, what is occurring and what is to come. Those that are recorded in the Bible are the genuine experience of real characters that we can all learn from and benefit from. The Word of God is a living experience for us all to gain the treasures of heaven through much knowledge. True enlightenment comes from the Creator. The inspired writers of God did not testify to falsehoods to prevent the pages of sacred history to be darkened by the record of human frailties and faults.
Had the Bible been written by uninspired men, it would have presented a different look, a discouraging look to those erring men and women, who are contending with natural frailties and the temptations of a wily foe that is bent on everyone’s destruction. The Scriptures reveal how much God loves us and it records throughout the entire Bible, from the beginning to the end how God created us, served us, revealed Himself to us, gave Himself for us, reunited the repentant to the Father through Himself, died for us, rose up from the grave and defeated death for us and is working in our behalf to make it to His kingdom. BUT yet the world is taught to reject Him because of this foe that will not stop at anything to destroy all seeking for the Kingdom of God.
Let us all gain fresh vigor and understand that all those lives that were after the Kingdom of God, whose lives were recorded and penned by inspired men of God, who were also full of fault as we are today, and were contending daily for the faith as well, who were also far from being perfect in some point of their own lives we all need to understand the sweeping victory Christ will give to all who contend and strive daily to overcome the temptations of Satan and his host. We will all secure heaven through the works of Christ and our cooperation with the three highest powers in heaven.
The Bible gives us a correct record of the religious experience of marked characters in Bible history that will give us endurance to fight till the death as they did. Men whom God favored, and to whom He entrusted great responsibilities, were sometimes overcome by all the temptations and committed sins, and had performed great iniquities, even as we of the present day strive, waver, and frequently fall into error and iniquity as well. It should be very encouraging to desponding hearts to know that your not alone in this battle, this fight to overcome sin hell and death. We are all failing in areas that have kept us from moving forward in our life journey to heaven, but as long as we strive so hard to contend against the evils that come to us as a temptation to sin, one day, through the power of God we will gain that victory. If we desire it, if we want it, if we pray for it, it is God’s loving us and tender mercy that we will gain the victory. It is also through the merits of Christ and God’s grace that we can gain the fresh vigor to again rise above all the evil natures, inherited traits; and, just simply remember this, contend, contend, never give up, never surrender, never give into discouragement, if you fall into sin get back up and confess and He is just and faithful to do so.
1 John 1:9 -If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
And remember this as well, remember those vigilant warriors for God who came before you, remember those martyrs for Christ who have come before you who had given in to the enemy as well, but got back up to fight again until the day that they died for Christ and His truth.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 -I have fought a good fight, I have finished [my] course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
